Sony Ericsson P5

Rumors started to appear on the Internet about Sony Ericsson’s new handset from smart series. It says that the new device will be announced on November 15 and it will be named as Sony Ericsson P5 (Not Sony Ericsson P3, as we expected). It will be equipped with a huge touch-screen display, GPS module, Wi-FI, 5mp camera, new version of UIQ and what is the most important with have a powerful CPU.

For me, that's fantastic information (As I already said, I'm waiting for the next phone from P line impatiently) and I hear about this phone from more and more sources. It’s a bit pity that it’s only a rumor, though. As we have seen a couple of times, the rumors have just remained rumors. For example, not a long ago there were all kind of rumors that on November 6 something really revolutionary would be be announced. However, as we already know, there wasn't anything like P3 or revolutionary presented, not even a new smart-phone, only some ordinary phones. So let's wait for November 15. Just a week remains until we find out what will be released.

Sony Ericsson M610 FOR SALE!

Long time has passed since FCC approved Sony Ericsson's new business smartphone from M line, long awaited Lizy - Sony Ericsson M610, successor of the M600, the phone whose announcement we are waiting till now, but at least one prototype example has leaked and has been spotted on German E-bay on sale for 1000EUR.

All what we can say about the novelty's major specification is that, there is no camera, as on the M600 and QWERTY keyboard implemented similar to Sony Ericsson P1. The OS of the device is Symbian OS UIQ3.

The device is equipped with a 320х240 QVGA 262k color touchscreen display and is intended to work in WCDMA (UMTS)/GSM 900/1800/1900mhz networks. The volume of the built-in memory is 160mb, but the device supports Memory Stick Micro memory format and it can be increased with М2 memory card.

The communication capabilities are provided by the Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b module, Bluetooth with A2DP support and an infrared port. The dimensions of the housing is 55x106x17 mm and the weight is 116 g.

Unfortunately that's all what I can say for now and I must repeat that this phone is only prototype and the specifications may not be entirely true. As you know there was no formal confirmation, but there is a real chance that the phone will be announced on November 6. So we don't have to wait too long.

Sony Ericsson W960 impresses with its 8GB memory and touch display. You can have all the music you want - literally at your fingertips. Sony Ericsson PXi

Not long ago, a picture of Sony Ericsson’s new device has hit the Internet. On the picture, we can see that device is named PXi... What is that? Is this a new prototype of the new device? Or is it just a concept, really nice work made by another amateur designer? Or maybe it’s another concept or even a prototype of the long awaited Sony Ericsson P3??? I dare to ask that because as we know, same thing was with the latest SE smartphone Sony Ericsson P1, in early appearance, the device was wearing another name – Sony Ericsson P700…

I don’t know what is that, but the fact is that I really like it, really nice design with huge screen…

So what we can say about it, it’s equipped with huge display, maybe 3.3 inch and it’s obvious a touch screen. I can also see a little front camera and that means that device supports 3G. I also can see red jogdial button on the right side of the device and housing reminding Sony Ericsson P1i. According to the serial name P, the device is smartphone and that means that the OS is based on UIQ… That’s all I can say for now. To be honest I don’t believe pictures like this and I think that it’s just another fake and I don't know why, but I really like it.

It will be more thin and compact than Sony Ericsson P1, but will receive noticeably greater functionality. The concrete platform on the basis of which will work Sony Ericsson P3 is not known yet, converge that it will be new version UIQ (maybe UIQ4 ? We don’t know).

HTC+SE=Smart Windows Mobile Sony Ericsson

According to a Chinese-language newspaper “Commercial Times”, the HTC (“High Tech Computer” Corporation) will produce Windows Mobile - Smartphones for Sony Ericsson. The first device will appear in 2008 and in total it is planned to release about one million units.
The given information very strange and improbable as Sony Ericsson initially supports platform Symbian.

Volume shipments of the smartphone - Sony Ericsson's first Windows Mobile-based smartphone and HTC's first ODM orders from a first-tier handset vendor - are expected to top over one million units and to account for 10 - 20 % of HTC's total shipments projected for 2008.
Said the “Commercial Times”.

It is just a rumor, but for now, lets just wait and watch for the news and facts.
